Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd

The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd previously housed the Sacramento Pilgrim Christian Church. The building appears to be from the 1960s or 1970s. [map]

Shiloh Baptist Church

The St. Peter's by the Sea Presbyterian Church was designed by Orr, Strange, Inslee and Senefeld and built in 1960. [map]

First Church of Christ, Scientist

The First Church of Christ, Scientist was built around 1963. [map]

Little Sisters of the Poor
San Pedro, CA
The Little Sisters of the Poor moved here in 1979. I believe this building was constructed then. The statue on the side of the building is of Jeanne Jugan, aka Sister Mary of the Cross. For more, see this website. [map]

Pilgrim Congregational Church
Redding, CA
The Pilgrim Congregational Church was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built from 1960-1963. It was the last church designed by Wright. He died before it could be finished. For more, see this website. [map]

Skyrose Chapel
Whittier, CA
The Skyrose Chapel at Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary was built in 1997 which is far too late to be mid-century modern but I'll include it anyway. It was designed by Fay Jones and Maurice Jennings. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]
