Paul Bunyan Amusement Park [gone]
Bemidji, MN
The Paul Bunyan course was run-down but very sweet. It was just behind the giant Paul Bunyan and Babe statues along the lake. It had some nice and unique figures with local references, including this big fish and mosquito. This course was built in 1995 as part of the Paul Bunyan Amusement Park. These photos were taken in 2001. The kiddie rides were auctioned off in 2006. By 2011, the mini golf was gone as well.

Goony Golf of Spring Lake Park [gone]
Spring Lake Park, MN
Goony Golf of Spring Lake Park was built around 1977. The name was changed to Spring Lake Amusement Park around 1980 when a waterslide and some other amusements were added. This was one of the few and best-preserved examples of the chain with well-maintained and animated obstacles. The facility also had a well-designed modern course which was built around 1992. In 2015, the owners decided to retire and the place was put up for sale. In 2017, the place closed and will soon be razed for a new development. The Goony Bird went to a private collector. The Mad Hatter and a gravestone were saved by the owner's son. I believe the rest of the statues were demolished. For more, see this website.
