Griglak's Zoo

(hit "refresh" to get the most recent version of this page; click on photos for larger images)

Cyril Griglak began building plaster animals in his backyard in Perryopolis, PA when he was in his eighties. He produced them from around 1990 until his death in 2005. Among the more than 20 animals are a tiger, a lion, a turtle, a rhinoceros, a cheetah, a bear, a zebra, and a kangaroo. Griglak's pulley system enables a gorilla to bounce and a spider to chase a dragonfly. Griglak also designed a float with plaster people that he used to bring to the Perryopolis Pioneer Days and Halloween parades. I don't know if those statues are still used.
