former station
Tucumcari, NM
This former station was probably a Texaco station originally. I didn't make note of the address of this building when I took this photo in 2012. Does anyone know where it is?

Tucumcari, NM

2012:

2017:
This former Esso station was restored in 2011. Unfortunately, it was dressed up with Phillips 66 pumps and signs. As far as I know, this was never a Phillips 66 station. By 2017, the building was housing the Old School Garage. [map]

Tucumcari, NM
This former station was also repainted in 2011. I don't know this was ever a Texaco station. The canopy is a modern addition. It would have been flat originally. The building now houses the Trade Station, an antiques store. [map]

In 2011, about a half dozen abandoned stations in town were painted with different oil company signs. Unfortunately, there was no attempt at historic accuracy. The brands painted on the buildings have no relationship to the brands that were sold by the stations either originally or later on.

The first former station shown above was painted with Continental Oil and Conoco signs in 2011. [map]

The second former station has a Standard Oil sign on the front of the canopy and was painted in that company's colors. [map]

The third station shown above was painted with Whiting Bros. signs. [map]

The station with the Sinclair sign was originally a Texaco. [map]

The former station above painted with Magnolia Oil signs was most likely a Texaco originally. [map]

The former Texaco station was painted as a Polly Gas station. [map]

This former Phillips 66 station appeared to be vacant when these photos were taken in 2012. It was still there in 2017 but demolished later that year.

This former Phillips 66 station hasn't had pumps since at least 2012. The building has been vacant for many years. [map]

former Phillips 66 station
Farmington, NM
This former Phillips 66 station was built around 1959 and stopped selling gas in the 1990s. The building was restored from 2022-2023. [map]

Santa Fe, NM
This former Phillips 66 station in Tucumcari now houses Quality Lube & Tire. [map]

This former Phillips 66 station in Santa Fe housed Rock and Roll Motors when this photo was taken in 2012. It has housed at least two other used car dealerships since then. [map]

former station
Farmington, NM
This former station was housing the MT Tire Shop in 2017 when this photo was taken. It now houses a car wash. This double canopy station has canted windows like the ones used in the Phillips 66 stations above. However, the canopies and the building design is different. The building housed a Conoco station in 1973. That was probably the original brand sold here. [map]

This former Gulf station has been abandoned for many years. [map]
