Gulf station
Whitehouse, NJ
Gulf station [gone]
Parsippany, NJ
This Gulf station sign in Whitehouse stands next to a still-operating Gulf station. As of 2009, this sign appears to have been recently refurbished. It is lit at night. For more, see this website. [map]

This Gulf station in Parsippany was still open when this photo was taken in 2011. A modern canopy was installed in front of this office. Originally, there was probably a "Go" and more arrows above the sign like this one. The sign was covered up in 2012. By 2013, the sign was gone and there was a new BP station on the lot.

former Calso station
Teaneck, NJ
This former Calso station now houses Teaneck Ignition Service and still sells gas. The station was built around 1947. In 1958, all Calso stations became Chevron stations. In recent years, this building was painted brown and operated as a Gulf station. Around 1999, the paint was restored to the original porcelain enamel panels. These stations bear a strong resemblance to Mobil "drum" stations. They appear to be a regional design as I have not seen them anywhere else in the country. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

former Calso station
Teaneck, NJ
former Calso station
Haledon, NJ
This former Calso station in Teaneck was vacant when this photo was taken in 2011. It was apparently a Gulf station before it closed. By 2016, the property was surrounded by chain link fencing. [map]

This former Calso station in Haledon now houses Zizzo's Auto Service. [map]

Ridgewood, NJ
former Calso station
Passaic, NJ
This former Calso station in Ridgewood was vacant when this photo was taken in 2011. It was previously used by the Fairway Dodge dealership. By 2013, the building had been significantly remodeled and a second story was added. The building now houses East Coast Burger. [map]

This former Calso station in Passaic now houses Sagil Service, a repair garage. This station operated in later years as a Chevron station and a Gulf station. [map]

former Calso station
Paterson, NJ
former Calso station
Elmwood Park, NJ
This former Calso station in Paterson is now a Valero station. [map]

This former Calso station in Elmwood Park was also a Valero when this photo was taken in 2011. By 2012, it was a Delta station. [map]

former station [gone]
Wayne, NJ
former station
Toms River, NJ
This former station in Wayne was in use as a repair shop when this photo was taken in 2011. This might have been a modified Exxon or Shell station. The building was demolished in 2015.

This former station in Toms River has been abandoned since at least 2008. I don't know what brand was sold here originally. This photo is from 2012. The building was still there and vacant in 2015. [map]

former Kern's Sunoco station
Berlin, NJ
Kern's Sunoco opened in the 1950s. The station no longer sold gas but still offered repairs when these photos were taken in 2012. By 2014, the building housed C&M Auto Repairs. The blue and white panels still remain but the Kern's sign has been covered up. [map]
