The Egyptian Building was originally known as the Medical College of Richmond when it was built in 1845. The building was designed by Thomas Somerville Stewart. In 1927, the interior was remodeled in the Egyptian Revival style as well. The building is now part of Virginia Commonwealth University. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]
