Woolworth Stores

(hit "refresh" to get the most recent version of this page)

This section focuses Woolworth stores. Their first store was built in 1879. Like Kress, Woolworth was a five-and-dime store. Not until 1932 did they begin selling things over 20 cents. A Woolworth building boom began in 1935 therefore many of them were built in the Art Deco style. However, there are plenty of examples here from before and after that era. If you have suggestions of buildings that I may have missed, I'd love to hear from you. Enjoy!
