Bison Hotel
Fargo, ND
The Bison Hotel was built in 1905 as the Viking Hotel. In 1940, it was remodeled as the Northern Hotel with that name still in the parapet. Sometime later in the 1940s, it became the Bison Hotel. There was a projecting neon sign and apparently pink vitrolite tiles then. I don't know when the black vitrolite glass tile was installed and the windows were replaced. The hotel and restaurant closed in 1972. The building now houses apartments and retail space. For more, see this website. [map]
