Richland Carrousel Park
Mansfield, OH
The spectacular Richland Carrousel Park was built in 1991. It is the first hand-carved carousel to be created in the U.S. since the 1930s. It was carved and painted by Carousel Works in Mansfield in the style of a Dentzel carousel. There are 30 horses, 22 menagerie figures (4 bears, 4 ostriches, 4 cats, 4 rabbits, a goat, a giraffe, a lion, a tiger, a zebra and a hippocampus) and 2 chariots. There is also a Stinson organ and a gift shop. For more, see this website.

Carousel Works also created the Bronx Zoo Bug Carousel, the Carousel for All Children in Staten Island, the Houston Zoo Wildlife Carousel, and the Toledo Zoo's African Animals Carousel. In 1990, Carousel Works restored the carousel at the Santa Monica Pier. For more, see this website.
