Zeum Carousel
San Francisco, CA
The Zeum Carousel is a Looff carousel built in 1906. It was originally installed in Luna Park in Seattle, WA. In 1913, it was moved to Playland-at-the-Beach in San Francisco. In 1972, Playland closed and the carousel went to New Mexico where it was put in storage. It went to Long Beach, CA in 1983. In 1998, it was installed here.

There are 44 jumping horses, six standing horses, four camels, four giraffes, four Rams, and four chariots. For more, see These websites: 1, 2, and 3.

Looff Carousel
Santa Cruz, CA
The Looff Carousel was created by Charles I.D. Looff in 1911. It has always been at this location on the Boardwalk. There are 73 horses and two chariots. In addition, there is also an operating brass ring machine. There are two Wurlitzer organs and a Ruth & Sohn organ from 1894. Unfortunately, this carousel was closed for the season when I was there so I only got these photos through the window. For more, see this website.
